We have a display each year at the Alresford Show, where we demonstrate lacemaking to those visiting the Show.
During the summer months we demonstrate lacemaking to the visitors on the second Saturday of each month, usually in the garden.
Some of our members who are also keen knitters as well as lacemakers make jumpers, hats and gloves for charity.
These go to Wessex Rotary who organise and fund transport to needy families abroad. Recently these have gone to Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
On 6 July 2025 three of our members demonstrated lace at the Fair. Many visitors were dressed in Regency costume and were interested to see bobbin lace being made.
At our June meeting, Heather Grant came to talk to the group about her work in Ghana. Heather and her husband Trevor have been working with a women's group in the north of Ghana, in a town called Bolgatanga for the past 13 years.
Heather brought along lots of the women's baskets and other items which she sells to raise money to be able to help the group further.
